Evening classes - age groups?

Following mobile chicane's recommendations to check evening classes nearby I had a thorough investigate and there's some really good subjects out there which could be a great way to get me out of the house and meeting new people.

So far discovered:
German language - useful as I work for a German company
Photography - always envied those who can take brilliant shots at car shows.
Tai Chi - might be good for relaxation
Wine tasting and knowledge - good way to get pissed and need a lift home!
Thai cookery (there's a few other cookery classes too)

So these courses are the 5-6 week, one day a week evening classes and I can't decide whether the people there will be all old dears filling their time or a nice mix of people including some of my age (30). If I enjoy these brief courses I may sign up to a proper college 1 year qualification. Possibly!

Anyone done anything similar and was it worthwhile?

If looking to pick up women of a similar age I'd guess Tai Chi would be the favourite.

i did night school french when i was still at normal school. i was the youngest there by 30yrs.

did thai and indian cookery whilst on a work placement as the company had a deal with the college so a few of the interns did it. again we were the youngest by 15-20 years or so.

learnt arabic for a while, mix of 18-60yr olds.

in short, its pot luck.

I did Dreamweaver for web design recently.

It was a right old mix of people & ages in there, from late teens to late 70's... hooked up with two great friends (a guy and a girl) non of us learnt anything but we had a good time moaning about it
