Is Wanstead a nice place to live?

I'm thinking about moving to Wanstead in a few months (renting). As far as I can tell it's a good location (work in the city) and there is some greenery about if I wanted to visit a park etc.

I've only walked around the area a couple of times, so was wondering if anyone knew anything good or bad about the area? Any places I should avoid?

in the high street there is a big wetherspoons that gets quite lively, 3 reasonably "upmarket" establishments also woodford is pretty close and if you have no shame there is o'neils on the green man roundabout.

All in all a pretty nice place, a "sauna" on the high street too if thats your bag?

Yes. It's fairly pricey which is what you'd expect for the area but there are good transport links and it's a nice enough area.

It's not bad, loads of poncey Essex people but otherwise ok. Oh and the station is closed for refurbishment for a while, but Snaresbrook is just up the road. Plenty of shops and you have woodford around the corner.
