Start with Mein Kampf, that will at least give a basis to go from - it was written from prison following the failed putsch (I think that is spelt wrong!!)
My knowledge is pretty basic but his view was that a Jewish conspiracy had persuaded the germans to surrender in the First World War without actually being defeated on the battlefield. From there its all pretty well known - depression formed the breeding ground for the Nazis in Germany and many people were persuaded to look the other way.
There is a book called a 'Hitler - a study in tyranny'. I read it a long time ago and its really detailed but I can't remember who wrote it.

It goes back along way, pre-dating Hitler by 1000's of years. The Romans/Byzantines repressed and expelled the Jew's from the Middle Eastern lands they occupied, basically because the religion was not the same as theirs. In Europe were many found themselves, the Romans had established Christianity and as they were not seen as Christian they were considered second class citizens. The "Ghettos" were initially created in Papal States and pre-date Hitler by many years. In essence Hitler merely stirred up the "old" differences that had been stifled in the creation of secular states in Europe. They were an easily identifiable target for his propaganda to blame for society's ills.
Funnily enough the relationship with Muslims was until recently pretty good if erratic. The return of many Jews to what they see as their Homeland caused problems within the Arab world which led to the current "frosty" relations

Alan Bullock. He also wrote 'Hitler & Stalin - Parallel Lives'.Essentially, Stalin got away with it because he won (and was smarter)
