I've noticed that many English people can't say "sixth" properly. It comes out sounding like "sickth".
Hang on, how on earth do you say sixth if it's not "sickth"?I've been brought up well and I'm proud of my English, but...

Can't you slot in the "icks" sound?
How do you say the word "Six"? Do you pronounce it "Sick" or "Sicks".

You are right that many people don't; I've never really thought about it before.
Language is a living thing. It continually evolves through everyday use and we can do nothing except try to keep up.
Sure, we could try and enforce regulations on the use of language and complain bitterly when it is used in a way with which we disagree, but where would we be then?
France, that's where. And nobody wants that.
