Waiting for a sliced loaf!

Twice now my local sainbury have taken 20 mins to send someone to the bakery to slice a fresh loaf for me, so the other day I got sick of waiting and walked behind the open counter and started up the slicing machine myself. Pretty soon a member of staff arrives to take over

Others customers were also waiting for the same thing and were quite please with my actions.

I don't really have an issue with slicing my own loaf if it gets me out the store 20 mins quicker!

Anyone else ever tempted to grab the bull by the horns and do stuff themselves when service is rather lacking?

When i worked at the blue and orange hell i remember the training for that machine lasting less than 5 seconds

I leave it on the counter, finish my shopping and go to collect the loaf before I pay

In the supermarkets over here the bread is fresh and there is a thick and thin slicing machine at the end of the bread 'bins' to use as often and quickly as you like.

Its a shame this is the only thing I can come up with that is a 'bonus' to living in Belgium

Ah yes the beer is damn fine - but then its not difficult to find a supplier of this fine liquid back in blighty... You dont have to live in switzerland to enjoy the chocolate

Its a purple/maroon and orange polo with black trousers now. I LOVE my new uniform.


Although when the bakery kicks off at 5am the smell of fresh bread takes my mind off it
