Past few days the office has had a suf afreekan bloke phoning up trying to sell us finance, after repeated attemtps to say no, we dont want it, no you are not speaking to so and so, I have just lost the will to live with him, same bloke each time

Just rang up told him to put us on a do not call list repeatdely, was then asked what that is, told him knows that is, it means you do not call us ever again.

Told him we arent interested in what he is selling, then asked me what I thought he was selling, told him finance, turns out no he isnt selling finance he just wants to talk about.

Told him he was a nuisance caller, and to stop calling and just got the answer "why?"

Which point I just lost my rag and shouted a barrage of abuse at him,
"Look, I will spell it out simply F...O...Foxtrot...Oscar, plain old fk OFF! Just shut the fk up, stop calling here we dont want your fking st, we dont want to listen to your st, cease and fking desist, shut the fk up, fk off, stop calling, do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars, ps off, jog on, on your bike, knob off stop calling here you irritating fk!"

Also for the woman I spoke to in the BT help center, yes I am ok that noise you heard at the begining of the call the scream followed by the thud, then a crack and an ow can be explained
Scream- Me falling off my chair whilst leaning under the desk to turn the pc on
Thud- Me hitting the floor
Crack- the handset hitting me in the face
OW- well thats pretty obvious

Also turns out if you pay to have a really expensive fandangled office phone system you cant have chose to refuse

I know have the nuisance callers beaureu and if that fker rings again and asks for Mr. Williams, I will try and eek out as much info from him I can to give to NCB, he keeps asking for Mr. Williams, I am him, so is my old man, my brother and my uncle

Just let him give his sales pitch to you, answer yes, no at relevant points. At some point in the conversation he is going to have to say something along the lines of "are you interested", just reply, No, politely. He will eventually get the point.

honestly you had a whole week of someone at your beck and call and the WORST you could do was get angry?

be a little inventive- there are at least 20 quick, easy and free things you do with his call to at least provide amusement and merriment.

I'm not giving you all of mine- you need to be inventive in your own time biggrin

for starters- when asked to be put through to a certain person- say yes of course and put the phone down in front of the radio. Then time how long they stay on the line for

Take the number of another persistent sales call- then link the two calls together (use the mute button to stay on the line and listen to the comedy which ensues)

if you really have the bks- try this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZT3SuZ0Z2g

I see the number come up pick up put phone down, occasionally when I am not paying attention I answer it.

If he does phone back then yes I will have some fun, like put him on hold for god knows how long, then maybe make myself into an automated service, in which case I will now ask the PH massive to think of things to say to no.
1 2 3 and 4, but done in a way that most wouldnt understand example

If you wish to speak to someone up in the oxo tower please press 1
If you are calling with regards to mapping and logistics of the 335d press 2
If you think dumbing down has gone to far pleas press 3
For all other enquiries relating to pies and or pistons please press 4

then hit him with
"You have selected option 2 mapping and logistics of the 335d please hold whilst we transfer you through.....Music.....You have reached the 335d area, the 335d is acclaimed to be one of the best automotivemobiles for remapping, with tremendous gains in horsepower to creat a Ferrari killing machine, whilst retaining reasonable fuel mileage. The 335d mapped has been know to bash peoples back doors in and park in the oxo tower...If you would like to hear a comparison between the 335d mapped and the MX5 please hold."

I have to deal with these tts all the time. I found the best way to deal with them is to ask them to hold and let them listen to our crappy hold music for fifteen minutes. This usually works although once a guy hung on for almost thirty minutes in the vain hope of a sale. Had to admire him for his persistence.

When they say "Can I speak to X", you say, yes, bear with me. Then leave the 'phone on the desk and get on with other things.... See how long they stay connected for.
