My ebay account is in credit - how do I get the money back?

My balance has a negative number - that's in credit - yes?

How can I get that money back -- can I use it to pay for items I have won?

Can someone explain the printed refund form that i have here -- ?

Minus number is completely the opposite, expect a debt collectors letter and to be unable to close the account. Next time you make a payment it will take that amount + amount owing.

A credit balance appears as a negative number on your account status and monthly invoices.

I always thought you couldn't? Only to be used on ebay, either to pay for listing other items or to pay for items you buy.

I could be wrong but I didn't think ebay ever actually gave you money back.

I don't think you can buy things with a ebay credit. You'll either have to ask them for it back (if you have a DD setup, they might just dump it back in your account) or list something and use the credit up.

AFAIK you can't get it back. I've had just under £10 in my account for over 3 years. I asked them for it back but they said it's their policy just to 'keep it on file'. I'm sure if I owed THEM money though I couldn't get away with the same line.

just a quick update to counter all the ebay bashing on here


I rang them on the number advertised on the site

Got through to a person ... shock horror

Who promised me my money, back into my paypal account within the week


Sure enough.... I got it!
