Or what ever the Radio 1 text number is. I have only had Radio 1 back for a couple of days since moving away and it seems Chris is always trying to get you to text in, just random rubbish. This morning it was 10,000 texts so that they would play Andy Peters singing.
Now, i always assumed that this was a std text number and cost the normal 12p or free on most peoples contracts these days but the way he (and i presume other DJ's as well) push it all the time do they make money out of it?
is it a premium rate number?

I really don't understand why so many people text in. Do they really get anything from texting radio 1 saying something "I love that song. Andy on the M4"? Is it in the vain hope that their message will be read out?
I once, to try and setup a joke, text that number and it was charged as a MMS. So maybe the station does get something from it.
