I'm looking to change from using HSBC for my current and savings account. No other investments / mortgages etc. Roughly £1500-1600 paid in each month.

It is mainly due to mint.com's inability to support them as they ask for random digits of the security number so it can't automatically login. Lets not have a discussion about the security of Mint.com please!

So what is the best bank for customer service as well as decent benefits. Facility for a £300 overdraft for unexpected hitches.
I'm looking on moneysupermarket.com as we speak. Is it a ballache to change? Most direct debits are switched automatically aren't they? So just a standing order or 2 that I need to change manually?

Working with mint.com would be a brucie bonus also biggrin

Moving banks is pretty easy as the process of moving your DDs and SOs is automated. You just need to get your pay redirected to the new account.

First Direct are supposed to be good but since they're part of HSBC I imagine they have similar problems. Only other thing to note is that "Time with your current bank" is used as part of your credit score so if you move it might dent your rating very slightly for a couple of years.
