My contract has finished, so today I am outta here. But how to leave?

I was thinking a simple mid-air click of the heels as I turn the corner from my desk followed by pointing and clicking my fingers at people as I walk past them. Any suggestions?

Tie your tie round your head and then get everyone in the office to sign your work shirt.

If you can get `School's Out` played over the intercom that would also be good.

Don't say a word, don't tell anyone. Just go. Then they will probably miss you more.

Also, life has a habit of biting you in the ass. Someone you annoy today may be interviewing you in 10 years time.

Get the round in at lunchtime. All the permies hate you because you're stter than they are yet earn 3 times as much. It's the only way you'll get invited back.

First and foremost: Have you been paid in full yet?

Secondly: What are the chances of a phone call on Monday morning saying its all gone-to-sheet and we need you back on site ASABP?

However, its a sunny day, its a friday - if they had a PA system I'd be tempted to leave in a Elvis Styleee 'Brabusmog has left the building..' biggrin

Paid? Check.

Recall? Impossible.

PA System? We don't have one.

Possibility of windmilling my way out? Slim, I may need a reference.

Just leave. Without anyone noticing.

Before doing so, go the meeting room, go into the cupboard and fish out some of the notebooks. Write the word "Cu t" in large letters in several dozen random pages.

Then put them back.

Slow burn.

If your temporary contract just so happens to be a life guard at the local pool... this could be the end of your career classic!

Last job I left I whistled the Great Escape theme tune as I walked through the building.

Whistling it now!
