Stupid bloody systems...
Discussion
I need a repeat prescription and I need it before Thursday. Now being an organised kind of chap I know it takes 48 hours to get a repeat prescription and I also know that Monday mornings are busy for doctors surgeries so I decided to ring this afternoon.
"Oh sorry Sir, there's no-one on the 'prescription line', you should have rung before 12. Can you ring back tomorrow?"
Tomorrow will be too late as that means it won't be ready till Thursday and I won't be able to collect it in time.
Anyway, no-one on the prescription line my f
king arse, there are two women receptionists and I could hear both of their bloody voices when I called.
So I'm about to be a very happy bunny when I had a brainwave. If I just book a Dr's appointment I can get my prescription written out in front of me tomorrow
So thanks to their stupid system I will now go along and needlessly tie up a Dr's appointment just to get the tablets I need.

Something similar at our surgery. I ordered by son's replacement Salbutamol inhaler by dropping in a hand written note and collected the prescription 48 hours later. The request was written in block capitals. The prescription was for Pulmicort (his other inhaler). I politely notified the receptionist of the mix-up. Causing the 18 year old bint to pipe up, "That's because you didn't request it using the tear-off slip from the original prescription and tick the box". To which I replied, "I think the issue is less to do with me not ticking a box and more to do with you being in charge of issuing prescriptions when you appear not to be able to read".
Snotty cow.
Snotty cow.
I use the prescription collection service at the pharmacy. I call them a few days before and they get it in for me. I just walk in, often after the surgery is shut, pay for it and walk out with it. OK so it isn't as nifty as some people's on here but the OP should consider getting it as lots of pharmacys do it now.

I'm sorry to ask, but why did you leave it so late?I used to be in the prescription trade, and the number of people that don't take responsibilty for their own health, and always leave these things until the last minute used to piss me off.
However, you might not be one of these people.

In the end I booked an appointment with the GP, got them signed off there and then and now I have my meds. Unfortunately I had to tie up resources but if the system has no flexibility I will use it how it is.
