How much before you change your mind?

Working in a friend's tattoo studio today and the guy who was booked in for 12.30 did a runner.
He turned up on time but seemed a bit nervous, a lot of questions about pain, risk and needles, etc... nothing wrong with that. It was his first tattoo.
He was sat in reception for about fifteen minutes waiting to go in when he said "Just nipping outside for a cig". Then he did a runner!
He'd been in for a consultation last week and paid £175 deposit for a £350 tattoo...
Good job he changed his mind when he did though I guess.
What's the most you would "forfit" if you changed your mind about something?

When i had my second tattoo done i was nervous as well about it.He turned up on time but seemed a bit nervous, a lot of questions about pain, risk and needles, etc... nothing wrong with that. It was his first tattoo.

Once i'd sat there for 5mins having it done the next 40mins seemed to fly by!
In fairness I think Tattoos represent quite a unique proposition in that you're stuck with it for ever. I'd sooner lose thousands than have some s
t tattoo'd to my body.
Took me 5 years before I finally decided to get mine done. Never regretted it but probably won't get another. but I think I'm more cautious than most.
If that boy wussed out because of the "pain" he is an absolute fanny though. It's uncomfortable at worst in my experience.
But back to your question I wouldn't back out of anything else unless I had a damned good reason. (1) Because indecisive people are weak minded and (2) Because I'm a penny pinching scrouge.
