We had some joker ring up the other day saying he was from BT and they were going to cut off our line for our £10 debt. But we didn't get any warning letters we said, 2 were sent he replied! But we have direct debit we said, it was cancelled he quipped. Ok, I can easy check online to see if that is true ... click.
Problem is there are a lot of older folk who are too trusting, don't want to get into trouble and think they may have forgotten to pay.
Warn everyone not to give any details over the phone if they have rung you.
