Would it be possible to melt the ice and to run a pipe from the Arctic/Antarctic to supply water to Africa etc?

We can do it with gas and oil! (obviously more valuable than water)

You could do it from the Arctic because it's downhill. But if you tried from the Antarctic you would need to buy a pump.
