Jersey funny money

I've just visited the ATM in St Helier, and it's given me a load of 'States of Jersey' money. Is this any use in the mainland?

No, you will have to change it to sterling over there before you travel back or spend it all.

No use on the main land but a bank will change it for UK pounds

Amazingly I tried to purchase a cup of coffee at Heathrow last month and the girl spotted one of my 20p pieces was a Jersey one and turned it down! It's identical in shape and size but has a lighthouse on the tails side rather than whatever the UK ones have.

I've still got a £1 Jersey note though as I quite like having a pound note

I'm a Jersey guy and I do believe you UK folks are laking with the times without pound notes!

Also, above the ATM you use it tells you whether it gives UK or Jersey money out
