where the f
k did this bloody annoying word suddenly appear from?!? It seems to appear on every sodding thread I look at now and really, really pisses me off.
Don't even get me started on 'my bad' either.
Oh, and if you're thinking of replying to this thread with either 'simples' or 'my bad'....well Don't. Really, please, just don't.

"Simple" is a term from contemporary mereology. A simple is any thing that has no proper parts. Sometimes the term "atom" is used, although in recent years the term "simple" has become the standard.
Simples are to be contrasted with atomless gunk (where something is gunky if it is such that every proper part has a further proper part). Necessarily, given the definitions, everything is either composed of simples, gunk or a mixture of the two. Classical mereology is consistent with both the existence of gunk and either finite or infinite simples (see Hodges and Lewis 1968).
Given a mereology containing the null individual no object other than the null individual would be simple.
(Simples is also a phrase used by the meerkat from the comparethemarket.com advertisement.)

compare the meerkat isa fantastic exercise in advertising, and if that makes me a pikey for liking them the up yours pits, and i would highly suggest you re-evaluate your own life for being so affected by an advert.
However the true pits of recent insurance adverts surely has to be "Go compare!"

Good advertising ploy,
I don't understand how - because you remember it? I sure as hell remember it, and I sure as hell won't go near their site because of it.People who say it are generally the kind of people who need a good punch to the face.
Think Churchill - How many people phone them up because its 'funny' rather than shopping about.
LV = Love? Rather than London Victora.

Shame that the product is naff - tried it for my renewal, couldn't save me more than a few quid on the insurance, and that was for worse cover.
As advertising goes, it works and it gets people remembering it and thinking about the service.
BUT, I use the insurance comparison sites once or twice, just to check I am getting a good deal. But I get the best deal direct. Aviva or Direct Line always give me the best quote and cover and DL have always been good to me in the past and treated me well when I needed them. So pretty impressed so far, but not with the comparison sites.
Now they are starting to do house insurance too - again, best price direct with Lloyds. Had to make a claim when my freezer broke! Wife finished the call in about 20 minutes flat and said that a transfer had been triggered for my claim to pay £145 for the lost food. How good is that? Maybe they all do that these days, but I have to think that the service level was good and quick and still cheaper than the comparison sites.
How much do people really pay for insurance? Makes me wonder...
