I think buying a gift for someone you've just started seeing is nos 3.
Nos. 4 is them thinking they know what sort of accessories you'll like before you've been married at least 5 years.

My memory is a bit hazy but I think you only need to buy her stuff until she lets you finger her. If she doesn't then you can dump her for being too frigid and start buying her friend stuff instead.
