Food home delivery services (tesco etc)

So being behind in the times as I am, I have just started using Tesco grocery delivery.
Despite a lot of people telling me bad things (items not there, things being substituted for ridiculous replacements etc) - however so far I think its very good
No faffing around in crowded supermarkets with screaming kids running about, no more dealing with cretins hogging the whole isle while they stare vacantly at a tin of beans, no more dealing with the person paying at the front of the queue looking surprised when asked for payment - then taking 45 minutes to dig out their debit card...
So are Tesco the best for this, or are the other delivery services better?

The wife gets our from Waitrose once a week and as I understand it she is quite happy with it. We had a few problems at first with Organic meat being subbed for non-organic stuff so now just put a note to only sub for other organic stuff which they do.
They also 'upgrade' you when they swap items but charge for the cheaper one. e.g. We ordered something like a 500g pack of Beef mince, they didnt have it so we got 2 x 300g packs instead.

Ocado is a lot better than Tesco, which in turn is vastly superior to Sainsbury's. Ocado substitutes items a lot less often, and food tends to have longer use-by dates because they have dedicated home delivery warehouses. Tesco just has staff picking food from the supermarket aisles, so they just grab the first thing on the shelf - which tends to have the shortest date on it.
There are loads of threads about this on here somewhere.
ETA: And Ocado are the only ones who offer to bring the stuff into the kitchen - Tesco and Sainsbury's just dump it on the doorstep.

The only thing I can think of that's worse than buying supermarket food, is buying supermarket food on the internet, having it picked and packed by a spotty teenager who picks his nose and didn't wash his hands after the loo, then having it rolled around in a van for a couple of hours before it's delivered and paying for the privilege!

That all happens before it reasches the supermarket, so I wouldn't worry about it too much!E31Shrew said:

That all happens before it reasches the supermarket, so I wouldn't worry about it too much!

Tesco is a large employer but sooner or later they'll notice the missing delivery boys. Something on a spreadsheet just won't add up.

Tesco will bring your shopping in if you ask them. I order for my Dad and if he's there alone they bring it in and put the bags on the worktops as he can't bend to pick bags up off the floor.
We've only got Tesco in our area so we don't have any choice. I've used Sainsbury's in the past and they were OK as well.
