Was at a bit of a loose end today, so took my trusty old 20x50 binoculars out to see what I could spy.....

From fairly elevated ground, around 800ft I spotted Blackpool Tower and The Pepsi Max "big one" from Bacup near Rochdale...and then, from Stalybridge, Runcorn bridge could clearly be seen.....In both instances around fifty miles away...

Visibilty wasn't 100%, there was a bit of haze about, so, other than from the top of a mountain, what's the furthest you've ever seen?...

I saw the colloseum in ROme through binoulars last month. I was stood about 800 metres away at the time.

Visibility was good, very little haze.

About 130 miles the other day, at ground level; Kansas border with Colorado, to the Rockies. Probably a bit further than that; I was probably seeing some of the higher, further away peaks.

From the Hogs back (Farnham/ Guildford) you can see the Wembly Arch.

Well, I think it is- its in the right direction and I don't know what else it could be...
