The wind. Does it not just wind you up?

Im sitting here not able to get to sleep as the wind is gusting and lifting the tiles on the roof and banging them back down. There's plastic sheeting outside somewhere thats making as much noise as possible and the rain is driving against my window. I cant even get into the bathroom as the window has been left on the latch and the wind is either holding the door shut or there's a serious pressure difference between the two rooms. However I always take great satisfaction in watching someone else's wheelie bin slowly slide down the road or someone's garden furniture decide to up and leave. However not my own. I hate the wind. Its just there to wind me up. It keeps you awake on occasion. It makes driving very annoying. Walking is a chore and it can ever burn you.

Count yourself lucky mate. I'm working nights, got up thursday around 5pm, worked into friday morning, tried to sleep and next door started off at 7am serenading each other with music from the musical 'Grease' By 9am they were engaged in WWIII. tts. He then fked off in his Eurobox SXi and hasnt been since. They only got back from their honeymoon on tuesday.


Give me the wind in the tree's anyday. I find it calming and relaxing.

It's pretty windy out there right now, I am waiting for a bit of a lull before trying to get the dogs out for a stroll. Even the dogs don't want to sit out in the garden though.

Well I survived. Im alive and well and I don't mind a breeze, preferably on a summers day. Gusting winds right off the sea are another thing.

Agree. Well, next to noisy neighbours playing st R&B music really loud. Don't mind being rained on, hailed on, snowed on or baked by the sun, but just hate the noise and inability to hold a newspaper/bag sensibly. I'm still traumatized from the time I had my car up on ramps replacing the exhaust and the wind kept blowing my tub of screws(!) down the driveway.

It's one of those things where I quite like to watch how it effects things but when I am out with it, it will 95% of the time be a pain. I often have to work in it which is never easy, and it always puts me off going out on my bike.

Fortunately it didnt bother me too much while driving today although there was a fair amount of dust being blown around and dirtying my car..

It's the most annoying thing for a cyclst that always has a head wind when it is windy. Like me for instance.
