Monday the 5th October 2009.
Three years to the day since my life began.
Three years ago I had my "big" operation. At lot has changed since then. Some things for the good, others not so good. But my life has changed a lot since this day three years ago.
So I just wanted to say thanks to anyone who has offered words of support and encouragement.
I also, especially, want to thank those who aren't so supportive. Those who "don't get it" and refuse to see me as a woman.
You've kept me grounded and provided a challenge and that keeps me "honest" and level-headed.
Anyway, as I said... Today has been an emotional day and I'm tired now.
So "thanks" guys.
I'll have a drink to anyone who is celebrating anything today. In the interests of a discussion, feel free to tell us what you've been doing today.

head comments on here that was class!Congrats!..I have a neighbour who is a deeply respected academic who made the same decision a number of years ago and has had the big day for quite a while now. She had a party for all of us once she had announced her decision and has remained in her profession and in the neighborhood. Originally it was a subject of some curiosity I suppose, but life has returned to its humdrum self and she has continued with hers. Glad it worked out for you.
