challenge someone to fold a cigarette in half without breaking it..

Let them snap one or two, then take one, roll it up in a bank note, fold it till your heart's content, unwrap it and it should be fine!

Another one is

Allow someone to double their money by getting them to get a bank note out their wallet place it on their hand and tell them you will double the value if you can leave it their until a cigarette burns through...

You will never burn a hole through a bank note.

Some people aren't happy with it.

Bet someone 'X' amount of money you can open a beer bottle with nothing more than a piece of A4 paper.

Fold it up until it is about the size of a cigarette lighter, and use it to pry the bottle cap off.

My favorite magic trick.

You need a box of matches & a fabric napkin (one where the edges are folded over & sewn - available in most pubs & restaurants).

Secretly push a match into one of the sewn up folds in the napkin. Lay the napkin flat & get a victim to place a match in it, now loosely fold it up, keeping taps on your 'secret' match. Gather the napkin up in your hands with the secret match near the top, get victim to feel for match & ask them to snap it. Let the napkin unfold & hey presto, their match is intact.

What if they say a number 1-10 other than 7? It doesnt reach 70 and you don't end up with a number that sounds like 17?

Still works I guess but its only clever when the final number is 70 to make them question it as 17 not 70.

You just change the double it, add x, subtract n, steps to get to 70 whichever number they started with.

I think you probably have to know how to do maths to get it to work. shouldn't be too hard for about 99% of the population. (hang on, maybe not)

Tearing a telephone book in half.... the easy way!!

Challenge someone to it.. the bigger the bloke the more money you will make... watch as they cant unless you happened to pick a freak of nature.

Then when they give up tear it in half in front of them to piss them off.


How to do it?

fold the telephone book in half, then whilst still folded in half flatten out the top bit (only 20 or so pages) so it looks like:

now cause all your pressure is on the top several pages only (not the whole book like the meat head tried) they should start to tear easily and then just keep the momentum going and it should tear easily in less than 10 seconds.

Take your winnings!!

The grand finale is to tell the guys to swap places, and when the guy who has been taking all the stick sees you raise the ladel to hit the other bloke, the penny drops............

Bet anyone you can fill two pint glasses up with water, put them neck to neck, and put a penny inside them without spilling the water.

Heres what you do :-

Fill up sink, lay glasses in water, then put them neck to neck, take glasses out, stand on bar.

Get penny, and holding the penny at the two necks of the glasses slightly above it, get a knife, and using the handle, carefully tap the bottom glass, this causes it to move ever so slightly out of alingment with the top glass.

Eventually the penny slips in the gap, but the gap is not big enought for any air to enter, or water to exit, sorted.

The Adam Currie beer trick

All you need for this one is a book of matches and a mate with enough money to buy another round of beers.

Hand him the book of matches and challenge him to light a match with only one hand.

Use your best smug/bemused face as he fails miserably fumbling around trying to pull a match from the book and strike it without dropping one or the other.

The trick is instead of tearing a match from the book, simply fold the match backwards round to the strike strip and then drag it across using your thumb and 1st finger.

Light up a 'victory cigarette' while he gets the beers in!
