Ex directory mobile numbers

Tried a few times to opt out and make my number ex directory, but the website says service unavailable, cheeky gits.

I was under the impression they were only allowed to offer this service on the unnderstanding that people could easily opt out.

Nearly 3 months later and you still can't....
Anyone else had any luck?
