Read something that amused me this morning...

Queueing in the supermarket I glanced down at the papers and the Mirror's lead story began:
'David Cameron and his rich friends quaff £140-a-bottle champagne while the honest workers ...'
Hang on a minute. 'Honest workers'? Is the paper written by Karl Marx now? All it needs is the word decadent - and perhaps the addition of 'freedom loving' somewhere - and it'd be the communist manifesto.
Now the tories seem to have rediscovered capitalism, does that mean the left wing is actually becoming, well, left wing again?

Well Cameron certainly isn't an honest worker. He has been in politics all his "working life". Politics isn't an honest profession. I would much prefer to see someone who has actually done a productive job be a party leader.

Me too. It'd almost be worth Cameron getting a bloody nose at the next General Election so that we can have Boris or a revitalised Hague back at the Conservative helm four years later.The global economy would have improved somewhat by then too, so they could get on with being good, small government capitalists rather than faux socialists.

See, I was always under the impression that the Sun was a Tory biased rag. The news that it was removing support for Labia came as a bit of a surprise to me.Am I wrong or have I been living under a stone for too long?

Hasten to add I don't really have a political opinion on this either way, I just thought it was rather amusing that the phrasing sounds like a charicature of itself. I wondered if it was a joke to be honest.
Seriously who refers to any group of people as 'the honest workers'? Anyone who thought the initial post was snobbery missing the point - I suspect the guy who wrote the article comes from every bit as middle class a background as the rest of Islington.
