Need to have a chat with someone in oil and gas

Ive got some questions regarding the industry here since an expression of interest from Oz.

But I need to pick the brains of someone whos in it here.

My idea is to get experience there and then come back here in the long term.

You may want to narrow that down slightly as Oil and Gas is a VERY broad church. You may get a better answer to your question.

What I mean is that when us folk from a technical / practical background get with folks of a commercial / legal bent ... it's probably the most frustrating thing we have to deal with.

I may be doing you and your peers a disservice but it invariably seems like the commercial / legal chaps want to talk about things as opposed to just getting on with it.

Hence the "paid by the word" jibe.

All very much tongue in cheek; you understand.

If, by "commercial" you mean that your job is to do deals on cargoes as they sail around the world then I apologise and I'd like to try your job for a couple of days.

So you are not in the industry as such at the moment, is it; commercial, engineering, upstream, downstream, drilling, surveying, design, QA, installation, fabrication, marine, process, refining, HSE, operations, contract or permanent (), contractor or Client.
Come on do"nt be shy!!!!
