Security van procedures

My local boozer has a bank next door.
Sometimes when I'm out for a smoke, a Group4 van arrives to do whatever it is they do.
When they pull up, they (driver and passenger) usually go to the back of the van and pull a curtain so nobody can see what they're up to.
Last night, the person in the passenger seat obviously couldn't be bothered so I could see right through as the driver was faffing around with the strong boxes.
Now, when he had finished and returned to the driver's seat, he produced a heap of wet wipe type cloths and gave the steering wheel, indicator and wiper stalks as well as the surrounding area a thorough clean. This wasn't like he'd just noticed it was a bit manky and gave it a quick wipe, it was painstaking and exhaustive. When he'd finished, he went to the back of the van again and deposited the used wipes.
Is this part of their operating procedure? If so, what's it all about?
Perhaps coincidence or the driver has major OCD.

Seems fairly obvious to me. I am guessing there is an optimum time when a hijack might occur so just before this time the areas mentioned are cleaned so any fingerprints etc resulting from a robbery and getaway are more easily gathered by forensics?
Also why on the back of some of these vans is there a sign saying "Police Follow This Van"? Again I assume there is some kind of procedure where if not followed then this sign is somehow lit up, flashes etc so the police are notified?

All the vans use Smartwater and the old days of smash and grab have long since departed. Even IF the thieves get to the boxes, if they don't get a face full of lacrylite die, then they can be traced by smartwater. The vans are tracked, the people are tracked and the risk is very low to the drivers as the goods are well protected.
Stealing the box is no longer the challenge.

i saw one being robbed once,
it was in a servie area of a shopping center
just the bloke on his own, carrying the box of money, 3 hoodies ran in, with one hand in their pocket, shouting give me the box, bloke just gave it to them,
police found the box with the exploded paint just down the road unopened, by the getaway car that they had crashed in 200 yards
