I learn this lunchtime that the blessed Bob Crow is balloting his members for yet another strike on the tube. As I understand it they will get a rise in April above inflation. In my book that makes them better off. Certainly better off than the rest of us with real jobs or those who find themselves out on their ears at the moment!
WTF is the matter with these people!
Soon I won't be able to use the tube to go collect cheques from clients that the f'ing postie won't deliver! Are these dinosaurs so far removed from the real world!
The wall is not going to be big enough for all the people I line up against it come the revolution!!!!! Bullets are too good for them, going to use a flame thrower!

2010 - RPI + 0.5%
.. most people (except posties perhaps) would die for those pay rises!
still, i suppose they won't be paid for their strike days, so it's a form of self-imposed pay restraint. i'll just Broadband it for those days. Please Mr Crow - can you do your usual Monday/Tuesday routine. Cheers Comrade.

On that basis they need to get an extra 1.5% rise just to pay for the money they lose in 2 x 2 day strikes.
The maths is only approx so don't hang me for that, but in my book, that's f'ing stupid. I presume Mr Crow doesn't take his salary for strike days?
in my experience there are only a handful of drivers that actually seem to care what their clients, i.e. you and me, are doing. Actually had a nice Victoria Line chap this morning who gave people guidance at Walthamstow about what train was leaving first. So unusual was this that I almost felt like starting a round of applause.
