Act on CO2 Advert

Just seen the new Act On CO2 advert on Comedy Central. Advert is based around a father reading a story to his child. Story is basically about a world where everything is screwed, animals are dying and people are starving, it goes on to explain that the reasons for this are all to do with the huge amount of CO2 we're pumping into the air.

I'm not suggesting that pumping tons of carbon into the air is a good thing, however this is blatant propaganda. The ad appears to pass off as “fact” that the earth will be screwed within 30 years if we don’t drastically change our ways while including imagery of a little doggy sinking under the water line of a flooded street. It totally simplifies the fairly complex matter of energy transfer, bringing the whole thing down to shock imagery and a tiny crying rabbit.
I don’t really see why McDonald’s can’t claim that you’re a bad parent if you don’t take your kids there however a government organization can pretty much do the same thing if you don’t buy into their ideas. It’s pretty impossible to ignore the whole “Germany 1930s” vain running through the whole thing

This advert riles me up so much I'm starting to just change the channel for 30 seconds instead.
Like you said, complete and utter propaganda - I hate the way that there's no mention of any debate on the subject, it's simply presented as fact; and with such blatantly manipulative imagery. The only way it could have been worse is if they had an image of a child with a loaded gun held to their head and a voiceover stating, "If you drive a car tomorrow we will kill this child." It's absurd, and I can't believe that it's actually allowed to be shown. I wish I could produce a counter-advert to run after it, to clarify that man-made climate change is merely a theory supported by very few actual scientists, and that even if it were true, the only thing that could change its progression is if an entire country shut down for a year - not just leaving your TV off instead of on standby.
edit: Also my advert would encourage everybody that really wants to "save the planet" to buy used cars rather than brand new, no matter what the MPG figure is.

It's not been disproved, that's very much scientific fact, it's also provable that there's more carbon in the air now than there was pre industrial revolution, that's also fact, you can tell my checking the carbon content in layers of iceberg and when they were formed.Anyway, when I was doing GCSE Science not too long ago, I learnt about this

What's hard to show is whether or not this affects climate, how much it affects and what the consiqences will be, this is where there is a huge chunk of doubt and debate. It's certainly not factually correct to say that in 30 years time AOCO2's version of events will happen, that's just a lie

It's also been shown that the CO2 in the atmosphere has been 17 times higher than it is today, yet the planet was no afire... It has also been shown that the late Ordivician Period was an ice age, with Co2 far higher than today.
It has also been shown that there is a 6-800 year lag between temp rises and Co2 rates i.e. temperature change preceeds CO2 change, therefore it cannot be a driver.
