I still can't believe the editors didn't spot it, clearly the chinese authors didn't know what they were doing, but Chem Comm is a UK journal and they must've seen it.

I used to work with a very pleasant young lady from Australia who did indeed pronounce it that way. The thing is, she was a chef. She couldn't understand everyone else's hysterics when she sampled a dish and proclaimed, "it's alright, but it would be better with cum in".

This was in a ski resort and she used to refrigerate things on the balconny in a patch of ice - her ice. At one point somebody wanted an item that was busy being chilled and she replied, with a completely straight face, "sure - grab it, it's in my ice". [Try it with a strong Ozzy accent!]
