My Dad was telling me about work this week. Very exciting as they were having a royal visit!

Apparently, this minor royal was being flown in by the RAF. To make sure they had everything covered, they carried out several practice landings in the days preceding using fairly large military helicopters. On the day itself, HRH was choppered in for a 20 minute visit that somehow warranted 2 helicopters (Merlins apparently, but I'd be suprised if they were)

The following day was his workplace's "Green Day" where staff were encouraged to think of more environmentally friendly ways to get to work!!

So it's alright for minor royals (I'm sure most people on this forum are more royal than this person!) to swan around in whatever form of transport they feel like when the rest of us are made to feel guilty for driving 25 miles to work each day?!!

Excellent point. It's entirely unfair and the rest of us absolutely should not be made to feel guilty about driving to work.

I assume 2 helicopters because should anything happen HRH needs to fly away the commoners can walk, crawl, drive, but the security will have been worked out with HRH flying. So What it's green day, maybe they only had 2 rather than 3 or 4 because it was green day?

Besides, if I owned Cornwall I'd have an Aston and travel by helicopter too!

That Aston runs on wine, there was alot of pulicity about it being green.
