Bloody Ebay Buyer

Sold a laptop on ebay and waited a few days for payment, then received a note from the winning bidder to say they wont be going ahead with the purchase as it is more than what they wanted to pay and made an error.

Thing is, their max amount was less than the current price when they bidded and also they still had 13 minutes to contact me or cancel their bid, now i have to go through a dispute to get my insertion fees etc back and have to go through another week of silly questions!

A bidder cannot cancel their own bid if the auction has 12 hours or less to run, they have to contact you and you can then cancel their bid. You know you can offer the laptop to the next highest bidder as a second chance offer. I would report the winning non paying bidder to eBay as a matter of course and enter into a dispute.

And the best bit is that as an honest seller you can no longer leave negative feedback relating to the buyer being a messer...

I've virtually stopped selling on ebay now as everything is simply against you...

feeback was 100% and their score was 187.

the next highest bidder's offer is too low for the machine.

have started the dispute now and will wait until i get my funds back

Some Ebayers take the piss. I state on my adverts "Quick Payment = Quick Dispatch" to get the point over. 90% of people are genuine and if they sell something they're looking to get rid of it and if I buy something I want it ASAP.

I just treat people how I'd like to be treated!
