So very wrong.

To be honest I don't find the pictures that upsetting as afterall it isn't particularly gruesome and is quite a common occurence, but treating it the way she does just highlights some sort of mental illness to me.

If she needs to wrap up her misscarried baby, and show it to her family, and 'dress it up' then "her coping" shows signs of 'extreme oddness'.

So from the comments I read, it wasn't to do with religion and the other kids in the pictures where neice/nephew and it's not mega uncommon and has been seen before.

Although that last picture was just plain weird.

A workmate of mines wife recently had a stillborn. She was almost full term and had to give birth to the dead baby.

They took pictures and introduced 'baby brother' to the two older kids.

i can understand that it helps the person involved.

Agree.

Very sad to see, but it's the lady's child (yes, I chose that word carefully), and both childbirth and grieving are difficult and complex. To have to do both at the same time is something that - thankfully - most of us never have to deal with.

(Putting the religious comment in seems to be without any basis whatsoever, unless there is more to the story that has been mentioned elsewhere.)

To be honest though, the main thing I thought was how sad the first picture of her craddling it was. She might be a bit nuts, but I feel really sorry for her to be honest.

A friend of a friend recently miscarried and had to wait a week to have it removed. I cannot begin to imagine how that must feel on so many levels. If it helps her deal with it then fair enough.

Don't think it has anything to do with religion. As said above, it's just her way of dealing with it. I can't imagine how it would feel to miscarriage. Perhaps one of the female PHers can help us blokes to understand.

Have any of those people critcising her ever been through a miscarriage, stillbirth or death of a child?
