I am having extreme problems trying to get a Santander Zero credit card sorted out in time for my holiday (Leaving next Saturday- eeek!). I applied in reasonably good time, just under a month in advance, however the processing has taken ages, and I have spoken to 3 unhelpful, rude members of staff in the last 24hrs who say that the documents for signing were sent out last Wednesday. They refuse to accept the notion that they are clearly lost in the post and to help me with an alternative plan...

Can anyone help with someone high up? Basically, if I don't get the card next week I am cancelling- And they will lose out on all that expenditure on holiday!

It's not rocket science, say I.

PS. Mods- Placed in The Lounge for quick replies! Feel free to move tomorrow afternoon wink

Santander has quite a few banks within the group, is this card attached to a particular bank eg. abbey, bradford & bingley etc.?

Postal strike is localised and not necessarily constant. What matters is that they can't be arsed to find an alternative solution. Card is a "Santander" one.

I doubt they'll give a toss - the Zero card incurs no usage charges abroad. Or charges for cash withdrawals for that matter. And is free.

Anyway, I think you want the MD of Santander Consumer Finance who is Vik Hill.

I'm surprised - I've just swapped from an Egg Visa to one of these & they couldn't have processed quicker or been more helpful.

These are for Santander UK Cards Ltd:

If you want any of the other Santander companies or names/addresses of directors let me know.

Peter Robinson might be a good start.

Ah yes surprise, along with fear and ruthless efficiency. No one expects them you know.

Why would a Director of Santander take an interest this issue?

Any correspondence wouldn't get past the PA! All that would happen is that it would be sent on to the relevant department to manage.

I have heard of people gaining good results by going reasonably direct. It might get me past the initial stage phonechimps who have been, let's be honest, rude and deeply unhelpful.

I expect Santander's share price will plummet when news of carreauchompeur's cancellation of his zero interest holiday credit card reaches the city!

The MD will indeed be very interested in stopping this possible catastrophic event.

Don't worry carreauchompeur, I'll be pulling strings and calling in favours to get this mess sorted. Unless stopped, you not spending money on a zero interest credit card could create the biggest financial crisis the world has ever seen.

I hope you enjoy your holiday.

God bless America.

Whatuvvvurrrrr!

It's just annoying. Just really the principle of them not giving a flying feck whether they lose me as a customer for a simply-sorted problem. And the attitude of the staff!
