It's deceiving when you see them on the pitch as they're all relative to each other, rather than anyone "normal" sized - I bumped into Dorian West and Mike Tindall in Sydney during the RWC a few years ago, and they're fecking HUGE.

yes

Johnny Wilkson is actually a pretty big fella too if you ignore his height.

I think one of the only England Rubgy players I've met who didn't seem any bigger than an average man was Rob Andrews but once again, he was a gentleman.

I've been in the pub in Twickenham when Dallaglio has walked in.

EVERY SINGLE WOMAN in the pub IMMEDIATELY stopped talking. There wasn't a dry gusset in the place.

If you see them both side on then Dally is much wider than Johnson.
I've played against or have drunk with plenty of Premiership & International players and LD makes most of them look small.

yes One of the scariest looking people I've ever met is Ian Gough. He looks big-ish when you see him on the pitch, but up close he's a fecking beast (a real gentle giant though).

Of course, every time I find myself thinking "They're not that big", I catch a glimpse of Shane Williams (at a mere 5' 7" he's my height) being dwarfed by the entire field hehe

ETA: Having said all that, if you think Dallaglio and Johnson are big you should meet Luke Charteris. At 6'10" and pushing 20 stone he's quite a big lad.

I met him at a school parents evening ( daughters are friends) and said to him with typical Glasgow brash:

" fk me. Are we the same species?"

He replied with: " You think I'm big you should meet Martin Johnson."

I sold him a bike a few years ago, he had to wait a couple of weeks while we got one in the right size. I've never seen a bicycle frame as big, like a barn door.

Yet when he got on it, it looked small...

Oh for god's sake, he's just a big guy. And he only plays posh bumming rugby, not the real kind.

Bet he doesn't even have a whippet.

Or an Australian accent...

Speaking of sporting monsters... the bloke on the right is 6 foot 2. Dallaglio is 6 foot 4. Sasquatch on the left would kill him, shag him and eat him.
