Critical thinking/reasoning test

I am attending an assesment centre for a promotion at work. Part of this includes a critical thinking/reasoning test.

Has anyone else sat one of these? Any advice or tips?

Do some googling.. Plenty of example tests online and also guides to help. Although (usually) designed to assess critical reasoning/intelligence, test taking strategies can help hugely so practice usually helps. Also helps to mitigate what's known as the 'threat effect' - IQ measures on something like Raven's Advanced Matrices can be upto 1 SD lower when told its a test of intelligence vs 'here's some interesting abstract puzzels for you to have a go at'. If you are more familiar with the type of tests you'll face you have a better chance of not going into a flat spin when taking the test for real.
