LED Lenser Torches - Superb - Perfect Xmas Present

No affiliation but I borrowed a friends piddly little torch, turned it on, and feck me was it bright - much better than my mini Maglite.

Turned out it was an LED Lenser, it seems these have something of a cult following yet I'd never heard of them before.

I never know what to ask for, for Christmas but I bought myself one of these and am now getting a couple more.

They even do a rechargeable one that sits in the ciggy lighter !

A google will find them and available cheaply on Ebay too.

That's great but even better is a Cadbury's Boost as it's slightly rippled and has a flat underside. Widely available from most good shops

prefer my led maglight tbh

not as bright as the lensers (apparently) but plenty bright enough plus Costco do a pack with the 3D cell 1 and the 2AA one both led for £30 I think they feel a bit more robust to me and the 3D cell one has a nice "I could be used as a weapon factor"

you can buy an LED upgrade for any maglite.

You can get LED bulb replacements for maglights. I changed the bulb in mine for about £3 from a seller on ebay.

Whilst you loose the ability to pinpoint the beam they are far brighter.

I have the K3 only £11 ish and unless hunting etc I can't see that anyone would need a more powerful one really (although what's 'need' got to do with it)

They are small enough to keep in a pocket.... I never thought about using one as a weapon.

Just a heads up for anyone who constantly gets asked by friends what they want for Xmas and is sick of getting a crappy CD.



I'm just so used to being disappointed with crap that I thought I'd draw attention to IMO a genuinely good product.

I bought a Surefire P6 ages ago then got pissed off with £6-worth of batteries every 20 mins so never used it

Anyway, lately there are all manner of LED upgrades available on ebay for it which will allow many hours of nearly-as-bright blinding goodness. Well worth an upgrade.

If you are after a genuine stocking filler (as opposed to a £10 plus torch) you can get those little 6 LED torches for about £2. Surprisingly bright, waterproof and ideal to chuck in the glovebox.

Fenix LED torches with the CREE/U3 LED will blow you away.

Maglites are last century tech but they can be upgraded quite cost effectively, and I don't mean with an LED. A hotwire bulb can still throw further than an LED. Look up "ROP" in the forum link below (if you're a geek, like me).

My god!! A whole ferkin forum on torches!!!!! This interweb thing keeps throwing up suprises!

Yet I just KNOW I'm going to register and in a few short days be able to bore my wife about torches and how much I need to change / upgrade etc etc.

I have a P7 LED torch for cycling through woods at night, 900 lumens, cheap as you like and perfect throw/spread ratio for use on a bike.

Yes, that bloody forum has cost me about 120 quid so far on tiny-but-massively-powerful LED torches and upgrades to my 6D Mag which can now set fire to people at 100 paces.
