Recommend me a tough & durable compact Umbrella?

Keep buying the cheap small black ones but the metal spokes keep getting bent after a while as they get squashed up against other stuff.

Does a more advanced one exist which would last a year or two?

I bought one years ago and its still going strong. Bit heavy if you are going long distances with it.

I have Knirps compact umbrella. Very well built and will supposedly survive winds of up to 60mph.

Bought one of these from JL last year. Still works ok. Not overly compact (14" approx") bbut is a full size,double canopy umbrella so wont easily turn inside out etc. . .

I got one from John Lewis'.

Push button, up it pops, push button, down it comes.

About 8" long, inch and a half wide, with a lovely comfortable handle made of rubberised plastic.

A tiny, marvel of modern engineering.




Mate saw it and immediately christened it the "Bumbrella".

I never use it now.

Only place to buy an umbrella imho. Got to love a company that started in 1830 and has even been in the same premises for over 150 years.

Even if you aren't in London, buy one online from them, and possibly a cane or shooting stick while you're at it.
