Getting enagaged. where to go?

I am meeting soon to be Mrs Curtisl in Canary Wharf tonight to pop the question and wanted a suggestion on venues.

I am looking for a bar, nothing crazy money but not a dive.

I know it's not in Canary Wharf but somewhere i have always fancied going (and meant to take somebody special, but alas it never happened) is Tower 42 in the City, views look ace.

Not the romantic venue IMO. It's not expensive enough for a start, and i find it attracts some lower class folk. I'd go for a South Bank venue as suggested above .. heck, even Pizza Express near Southwark Bridge.

I don't think the OXO tower would be appropriate. This is a serious subject and I need to keep a straight face. I think I will have a couple of beers and try out jamies.

Ended up at Jamies Italian. Was a bit of a wait, probably about 45 mins but I suppose it is to be expected if you can't book in advance. The food and drink was really nice. I thought it was quite authentic to Italy. Anyway, soon to be Mrs Curtisl got a little tipsey but she soon sobered up when I asked her.

Cheers for everyones advise, I will probably not take heed of the hanging quite yet tho.
