Any vets in the house? Cat with a bald chin
Discussion
Evening all,
My cat's come home today and has a strange bald patch on her chin. Due to work I cant get her to the vets for a few days, so thought I'd ask your advice as to what it could be or what could have caused it.
There don't look to be any parasites on it, it just seems like the hair has dropped out. No bleeding or puss or anything gross...
Any advice much appreciated.

P.S - My good lady put some savlon cream on it, then thought better of it and wiped it off, hence the cream on the fur around the cats mouth...

Cheers for the replies.
We thought it could be a burn at first, as it there were a few bonfires in the area last night, but no other hairs are burnt so I don't think it's that.
As far as we know there are no Euphorbia plants nearby.

The missus(vet)suggests it could be a Feline Eosinophilic granuloma(rodent ulcer).
Reckons on a course of antibiotics and a steriod injection(the usual). Commonly reoccurs but not serious.
HTH.
Thanks for that, will try to get her to a vet later in the week, I've not got pet insurance though, so I hope it's not expensive!Reckons on a course of antibiotics and a steriod injection(the usual). Commonly reoccurs but not serious.

Have those black bits at teh side of its nose always been there?
With that exceptional camera it looks like dried blood insode its nose. Perhaps its had a bash.
Our cat got hit by a car came home looking like that
Yeah they've always been there, even when she was a kitten we used to have to clean it for her, for some reason she just never cleans her nose. With that exceptional camera it looks like dried blood insode its nose. Perhaps its had a bash.

Are you sure that cream on its chin is Savlon? It's not been trying to eat Immac or other, similar hair removal cream, has it?
