It seems to have crept up from one minute to two minutes recently.

I think one minute (as it used to be) would have more impact and be more likely to be observed.

Thats the thing, in our building a mail was sent round by the management company and then the Fire Alarm was sounded at the start and the end...

I may translate the mail into German and reply to let people know what they would have been speaking if it wasnt for the men and women who were brave enough to stop them

I managed to get my 2 1/2 year old daughter to stand still with me whilst I observed the 2 minute silence.

Made all the more meaningful for the fact that we have lost the last three veterans of the Great war this year.

We will remember them.

People don't give a st anymore. The company closed the phone system off for the two minutes but we still had the usual fktards who can't be bothered. As previously stated, the fact that *some* of us remember is the important bit.

We had the usual fire alarm before and after (having been reminded yesterday and this morning) yet my Romanian colleague didn't seem too bothered about making a very loud telephone call during this time.

Still, as mentioned above, it's more about your own moment of silence I guess.

Agreed although I cant see how if ther foreign chap can do it, why others cant, it wasnt even halve an effort, jokes were being told, laughter, a disgrace
