Pity so many other places don't, my Wife came home from work yesterday (NHS) and said she felt a little out of place for wearing her poppy, as not many of the social workers / trickcyclists bothered.

We were in Costco in Reading at the time. The guy on the door was telling everyone as they went in that the 2 minutes' silence would be observed - the only slight problem was that they didn't mark the start of it, just the end. So the start was a bit straggly, but many people got there in the end.

Sadly, I can't even say "most people". Because quite a lot of people thought it was acceptable to carry on as normal, even when it was obvious that all the staff had stopped working and people all around were standing silently. That's Britain for you.
