I've just cycled through a gypsy camp...

And lived
What an eye opener that was, I was out on the outskirts of town and asked someone the way, they said "Just go down that there path and over the footbridge".
It was quite a long trail... First the mattresses started, then the gas cylinders, then the chopped down fir trees (why?) and broken glass, the road was rutted and there was scrap everywhere.
And suddenly there I was in bloody high viz on a £500 MTB in the middle of a gypsy camp.
What a difference, the rubbish on the outside is obviously designed to deter strangers, once you were inside the inner core it was neat, clean and there were loads of flash looking static vans. To be honest I've probably stayed in worse holiday camps!
And do you know what, for good measure I even spoke briefly to a couple of them
Well when I say spoke what I actually said was "Footbridge?" but you get the idea
Not sure if I'll take that route again though...

Years ago I rode my motorcross bike through the local pikey incampment.
Came belting round the corner to be met by the sight of a 20 something lad, squatting down, laying out a 6 inch brown steamer.
God its bringing tears to my eyes even thinking about it.
I somehow avoided a head on, but did just clip him with the footpeg, knocking him clean over.
Needlass to say i did not stop to ask how he was.

Had a bunch of them near me recently
Why, oh why, can these b
ds get away with not working (bar the odd bit of bad tarmac and rubbish collection thats then dumped on random ground), not paying council tax and causing random criminal damage everywhere they go?
We had anarchic graffiti on the roads and road signs, small estate nearby had a load of lead nicked off their roofs

We had a flyer posted on a lamp post near here the other week. It was from a young 'traveller' from a nearby pikey encampment, asking for the return of his moped which had been stolen.
I really wanted to call the mobile number and say 'Not nice, is it? What goes around, comes around. Tough s
t'.
Didn't though....

On the way to work a few months back I noticed some pikeys broke into a farmers grass field with all their caravans and $h!t and parked off in one corner. On the way home I noticed farmer had then ploughed his field leaving them all marooned in the corner. Tow yer caravans over that!
Would buy him a pint if I knew who it was!
