Scamming - has it now spread to pets?

At the moment me and the other half are looking to buy a puppy. We saw an advert for some suitable puppies and emailed asking for more details. This was the response we got from the seller named Torrence Homes(?)

We received the reply at 5.40am and after reading it I initially thought scam, the missus wanted to reply as she wasn't 100% sure. We replied to each question and have just received a further reply.Thanks for the mail and your interest toward my lovely male and

I was also talking about delivery right.I am going to make

As soon as i get these information,i will make all the
arrangements
with the delivery service and once i am done with that,the
delivery
service will contact you by phone or email with all the delivery
details(payment mode,arrival and departure time) for you shall be
making the payment directly to them so that they can issue you a
home
delivery card,puppy crate matriculation number and a change of
ownership documents from my names to yours to prove that you are
the
rightful owner of the puppy.
More to that,he will be coming with all his papers,health
documents and a nutrition booklet on how you will be feeding
him.get
back to me soon.He is going for £200 including home
delivery.Waiting
for details asap.

There was a news piece the other day (on Sky I think) whereby they had exposed people buying animals (dogs in this case) from illegitmate and cruel farms and then posing as genuine responsible breeders

I imagine they think there are more people out there they can scam for £200 Than there is for something like a car for a lot more. It doesn't really make any difference to them what they are pretending to sell as it obvioulsy never actually exists.
yet in the initial email it was a 3 month seminar!

Boston Terrier Pups, Dogue De Boardeux, Shih Tzu, even a Cockatoo. All with different emails.

Yep - well known scam. Most of the pups advertised on places like Gumtree are non-existant. You will hand over money and never see a pup.

Otherwise, get one from a rescue. There are shed loads of them. We have 9 staffies, 3 JRT x, 8 lab x collie and 5 goldie x. Three of the litters were born after the b
hes came into us. 2 of those were from the pound.
We've got a load of other young dogs too. I've just rehomed a 16 week old collie x girl.
