Need some 17th Century Antiques Valued.Any Ideas?

My experience with the 'upmarket' valuers is that if you have anything specialist they are not as good as they would like to think they are. I took a load of Moorcroft to one of their valuers with Mrs 4C and it was clear she knew more than he did, both in terms of what was there and the value.
I would look on Ebay (I know, but you get a sense of what thigs are actually fetching), and find a few local valuers who see and sell far more than in a week that most of the fancy auction houses see in a month. Also the charges of some of the upmarket auctionneers (for example for taking pictures and listing) are astronomical. We didn't sell in the end because it was uneconomical to sell some of the smaller items seperately to get the best price because their catloging charges were so high. They wanted to group some of the smaller pieces, to make them worth selling given their charges, which a local auctionneer probably wouldn't have done.
