McNab v Ryan

I have read a number of books produced by each author now, and it does seem to me that McNab is far, far better.

What do you guys think?

Ah yes, that is one of my favorites.

But even his fictional stories seem significantly better written than Ryan, characters are more believable, have more depth etc. I just finished a McNab, then immediately started a Ryan book, hence the reason for my question.

I would agree that McNab is the better novelist, his books read better. Could this be because he is with a better publishing house who have better editors etc. (I have noticed more obvoius errors in Ryan's books).

I have his whole series of 'Nick Stone' books....even a signed one. I love them.

I also have some of the Ryan books, but the McNab ones win it for me.

As always, yes.

McNab has branched out from "fact" (allegedly) to fiction-based-on-fact and, as such, is doing rather well.

May I recommend "Brute Force".

Yep definitely McNab... If you like his Nick Stone series of books, have a look at Stephen Leather's "Dan Shepherd" novels. Almost as good, if not better than McNab.

I started to read a Ryan book once but didn't really pull me in. I enjoyed some Mcnab ones, can't remember the titles, havn't read them for years.

Does Ryan still hold the record for the longest escape on foot?
