A few years ago I read an old newspaper report (on t'internet) of something that happened in Farnborough, Hampshire around the 1890's to 1920's. An old well was unearthed, and it was found to have been capped off with a large slab of stone and then covered with a mound of earth. As soon as the workmen removed the heavy stone cover all the dogs within a 5 mile radius start barking and going berserk.

I'm researching a book and I cannot find it now, despite various search strings. Does anyone on here know anything about this? or perhaps someone more skilled than I at Google-ing could help?

Thanks.

I just read your post and was intrigued so googled "hampshire well mystery" and on the first page of Google was the heading "Farnborough Well mystery/event". Easy, thought I, and clicked the link only to be brought back here to this post!

Blimey that Google is fast!

laugh And I was about to congratulate you on some impressive Googling!

I suppose it should have been given away by your mis-spelling of "silent" in the last paragraph.

WHy have you changed your name to try and be like me?

Sounds weird but it honestly feels a bit like being touched by an old man in the park against my will.
Can you be 911 again please.

How do you know what it feels like, being touched against your will, or the leg for that matter?

Oops. hehe

You'll probably find August 30th 1899 isn't a Sunday either!

I don't know what you mean?! I picked that name totally at random! There may be some passing resemblance admittedly, but that is pure chance

Seriously though. Please change it away.
However you look at it, its bloody weird.
I thought you did it for a joke initially.
Now IM worried you actually meant it. And there isn't any aspect of the emulation that achieves anything worthwhile.
