Working abroad and was thinking dinner was going to be on my own in the Ibis hotel (Abyss more like it) when a client offers to take me out with his Assistant.
Cut a long story short the Assistant is a Moroccan babe (ex-dancer) and dinner is Hotel de Paris, Monaco and I'm getting served scallops with shavings of white truffle...

Sadly I'm back in the Ibis now on Pistonheads but for a fleeting moment I saw how the ultra rich live (and it's pretentious but great), ain't life grand

Yep, just woke up the Ibis, it's rubbish (I won't be taking pictures), I did however get my host to take a photo of me outside the Monaco hotel with his assistant so once emailed to me I will be posting

No custard in the shot that I can remember though..

Ah yeah, well happily married (me) and she said pretty early on she had a headache plus judging by the way they walked arm in arm down the street I think my chances were slim to none.

I just enjoyed the view as she was very 'scenic upfront'....

I never really got what the fuss is abot scallops, dont dislike them, infact I love pretty much all seafood and shellfish (except oysters, like a shell full of snot)

I've had scallops loads of time, from home cooked ones from morrisons to various half decent restaurants and ones recently plucked from the med' whilst in corsica. Nice, but never going to set the world on fire. I'd rather a big bowl of moules thanks...

Maybe it's the truffle shavings I've been missing?

Maybe its just John Terrode (sp?) and the fat grocer banging on about them too much?

I like Monaco though, people seem to give it a bad press but I've had a good time the couple of occasions I've been...
