After having a read through the various Gordo the Clown threads on the go i've noticed a lot of talk of "if the 
s get in again then i'm off"
So, if they do get in again in May then what will you be doing?
Genuinely getting the hell out?
Or would you love to if you could but circumstance makes it impossible?
Maybe grab your pitchfork and torch and get your arse down to london?

I can't leave until 2011, but moving abroad would be for work. This country isn't that bad, it's lacking in many areas compared to other countries, but I'd say it as mostly cultural and sense of society it falls down on.
Government won't make much difference to that, either one will still waste tax payers money. I'd like to see strong reforms on social benefits, but I can't see it happening as it currently creates a lot of jobs that won't be replaced by anything else soon.

I can't get out until at least 2011 either due to Uni, but if they get in again, then all being well I'd like to go and do an MBA in the US. Actually, I'd like to do an MBA in the US regardless of who gets in. One advantage of being young and penniless with no kids, wife or property to worry about, is that it's relatively easy to move somewhere different for a couple of years.

I left around two years ago, I always knew deep down I would never stay in England my only regret is it took me 30 years to do it.
As a young single male with 'only' A Levels I was working my conkers off and having nada to show for it at the end of the month. I wasn't on the property ladder which made problems worse and without generalising *too* much English girls are gold digging mentals. I was also sick of the 'keeping up with the Jonses' and materialistic values of society. It was one day in the Trafford Centre seeing all the chav rats maxing out their credit cards I realised I was off. I was sick of giving giving giving and getting nothing back from the country and watching others grab grab grab or engaging in illegal activities to made money.
I genuinely don't miss a thing about the place, I've realised who my good mates are and have actually gotten closer to my family. I hate going back, I much prefer folk to come to me.
These threads always go two ways, one person will be posting beside his pool in Sydney larging it up and the other will be harping on about how great England is. There's no right answer obviously, but if you're as miserable as I was then just do it. Your quality of life is what's at stake and unless you're a devout Hindu, you only get one chance. The feeling when you book that one way ticket is fantastic.

I hoestly think the "This country has gone to the dogs turn the light out its st Gordon Brown is a knob" crowd are only to happy to sit in their misery and never actually leave and even if they did they would be deeply unhappy in the new country because they would just find something new to constantly bh about.

That said, if I qualify as a marine engineer I won't be tied to any country for residence, although even if I stay in Britain I'll probably still take extended leave with a friend who stays in Taiwan to ensure I get tax-free status - if Labour get in again I want as little as possible to do with funding them.
Mind you, as they say with the elections: 'Red, Yellow or Blue, they'll all still fk you.'
