I take it that there is a big push on cashing in gold in the UK at the moment and this is some pisstake?

Gubberment trying to restock their gold reserves? sounds about right for them, its only around a 10 year high at the moment!!

To be fair, neither do the people that the ads are aimed at. 9 carat sovereigns from Elizabeth Duke don't really count.... or do they??

Possibly - although I'm not sure why they want to stockpile a load of 9 carat clown necklaces, 'sovs' and Man United rings from Elizabeth Duke.
