Was thinking about the virtually religious zeal that many greenies display - and it's fair to say it's irritating, and most of us have a bit of a rant.

However, was thinking that maybe I'm looking at things completely the wrong way round. Because the greenies tend to be quite pious they will happily ignore price tags in their pursuit of self-righteousness. As such, I'm wondering if there are some commercial opportunities which could be exploited. For example, a consumable item of some sort which can (legitimately) be labelled "low carbon", or some such, and then charge a premium. So please post your ideas here so that I can nick them and seperate Mr and Mrs Hippy from their cash - as they exchange money for increased self righteousness.

My business plan for Srebbe-Turbo Enterprises Inc.

1. get balloons, bulk discount rate
2. fill with air (lung variety high in carbon dioxide)
3. place in refrigerator for half an hour, maybe an hour
5. market as cold air cure for global warming = hot air plus CO2 removal
6. sell to gullible pious greens at (materials plus energy costs) x N
7. meet over beer to decide on the value of N but minimum 20
8. retire to own island next to srebbe's in sunny 'climate'

I think you should get into the green washing detergent business. Just some cheap ingredients - it doesn't need to work, the hippies are quite happy to pong a bit for their cause. And, frankly, they deserve to.

I see what you've done with the title, very clever, that is.

A carbon sponge to soak up all those nasty CO2s.

Stick it in your exhaust pipe. Better still, stick it in your nearest eco-nutters gob.

Wool, and knitting needles can't be too expensive ?

Repackage them, increase the price five fold so they can do this :

That'll keep them quiet for a bit.

Best change the name to: Srebbe-Turbo Recycled Low-Carbon Natural Green Balloon Enterprises Inc. The name change will increase sales by a further 50%.
